Santa Maria Caravel
This magnificent replica of Christopher Columbus's galleon "SANTA MARIA" was built in the island of Madeira at the small fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. Along with seven local craftsmen, Mr. Robert Wijntje, a Dutchman who has made his home in Madeira, realized his dream when he started building the Santa Maria in July 1997.
Porto Santo Line
The island of Porto Santo, belonging to the Madeira Archipelago, is located 71 km away. The golden island, as it is also known, has an area of 11km long and 6km wide and is popular by it's 9km yellow sand beach that runs through its entire south coast.
