This tour begins with a small peregrination and you will feel blessed with the views you’ll have at the Nossa Senhora Fátima chapel-tower, built as a steep tower, rather unique with simple facades.

In São Vicente, take a deep breath and admire the terraces where the vines produce the fruit responsible for the nectar that throughout centuries have delighted admirers. Our guides will transport you back in time along the rural northeast coast passing at Ponta Delgada, Boaventura and São Jorge, where almost nothing changed in the past 50 years.

It’s indescribable what you will feel on the off-road tracks that wind through the dense Laurissilva forest all along the way; the scents, the sounds and the views will leave you dazzled.

Visit the typical and genuine Santana Madeira houses and other relics from the past which today still work, like the water saw mill or the steam-powered rum factory in Porto da Cruz. This is a trip that surely you will want to repeat.

  • São Vicente

São Vicente is an area characterized by green nature and abundant forest, modelled by volcanic forces and erosion in its beautiful slopes.
  • Boaventura

Belonging to the municipality of São Vicente, on the north coast of the island of Madeira, this small and peaceful parish is situated in mountainous green surroundings.
  • Santana

Santana is known for the traditional homes constructed with sloping triangular rooftops, and protected with straw. These were mainly rural homes, used by local farmers, during the settlement of the island, with white-painted walls, red doors and windows with blue trim.
  • Porto da Cruz

A charming village located on the northeast coast of the island. One of the many agricultural products here was sugar cane and today the processing factory is still in full operation mainly producing rum and honey molasses as it has since 1927. This place is also famous for surfing, swimming and nature walks.
  • Caniçal

Caniçal is a small fishing village, where the main catch is tuna. The name Caniçal originates from the abundance of reeds (Caniço) that grew in the more arid areas of the parish.
