For unsurpassed ocean and island views take a tour of the North! Leaving Funchal, Madeira’s capital, we follow the way to São Vicente village, idyllically set in a most beautiful valley.

We will continue our drive to Ponta Delgada, a picturesque village where the natural surroundings can be admired at their best. There will be a stop for the lunch break at São Jorge / Cabanas de São Jorge, a unique village overlooking the sea and surrounded by mountains and vineyards that shows off some of Madeira’s most spectacular scenery.

The return journey takes you through stunning valleys, passing the beautiful village of Faial and Porto da Cruz where you will have the possibility of visiting the “Northern Milling Company” for its sugar cane rum production, which is not always in time of the harvest or fermentation but still you can see all the procedure and history of one of the most important mills of the island.

We end our tour with a stop at a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the city of Machico.

São Vicente
São Vicente is an area characterized by green nature and abundant forest, modelled by volcanic forces and erosion in its beautiful slopes.
Ponta Delgada
Ponta Delgada is a parish since 1552. It has a bathing complex which offers excellent conditions for bathers with two saltwater swimming pools, solariums, bar, spa and first aid services.
Cabanas de São Jorge
The Cabanas viewpoint provides an excellent view of Arco de São Jorge and the Atlantic Ocean. On clear days, you can see the neighbouring island of Porto Santo.
Faial
Faial offers rural tourism accommodation, restaurants, bars and snack bars, mini markets and ATM machines. You can also enjoy the beach area of Foz da Ribeira do Faial, the kart racing track and leisure facilities.
Porto da Cruz
A charming village located on the northeast coast of the island. One of the many agricultural products here was sugar cane and today the processing factory is still in full operation mainly producing rum and honey molasses as it has since 1927. This place is also famous for surfing, swimming and nature walks.
Machico
Located on the east coast of Madeira Island, approximately 22 km from Funchal, this municipality is where Gonçalves Zarco and Tristão Vaz Teixeira disembarked, in 1419, when they discovered Madeira.
